Location: At the center of the country coast, in the Lima Region, with desert areas along the Mountain Range, the spurs of which sometimes reach the sea-border (Morro Solar). The sea offers proof of the ancient coast mountain range, as demonstrated by the isles of San Lorenzo, Hormigas, etc. Bays of Huacho, Ancon and Callao.

Boundaries:  Departments of Ancash and Huanuco on the N., Pasco and Junin on the E., Huancavelica and Ica on the S., the Pacific Ocean on the W.

Climate: Moderate. December to March are the summer months. In winter the average temperature is 12º C and in summer 25º C.  Climate in the city of Lima: The city is located 12º S of the Equator line, and the Humboldt current freshens the climate of the city and all the remaining coast, thus making the summer months warm and mild. During the winter Lima is generally covered by clouds and humidity is high, however it does not rain.
